Different Types of Organisations and People

Charitylog allows you to store details on all sorts of Organisations and People. They are organised into Types. "Clients" would be one Type, "Volunteers" another Type, and so on. It's also possible to create your own Types if the standard ones don't quite do what you need them to.

Behind the scenes, every Person in the system only has one record, but they might be several different Types. It's common for someone to be a Client and a Volunteer, for example.

The Types are configured so that different fields will display on the Details page for different Types. If you view a Client record, you'll see basic information about contacting them; if you view the same person as a Donor, you'll see some of that same information, but you'll also see details about whether they're registered for Gift Aid.

If you follow the links below, there is a brief overview of how each Type is configured.

Clients - people who receive services from AUKC

Volunteers - people who give their time to do work for AUKC on a voluntary basis

Staff - employed members of staff at AUKC

Organisations - professional or voluntary bodies

Donors - people who give financially
